Lamb's Navy Rum is the creation of Alfred Lamb, who in 1849, at the age of just 22, set about creating a blend of 18 rums from across Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad and Guyana. He named it Lamb's Navy Rum in tribute to the proud naval tradition of offering sailors a daily ration of rum.
Unfortunately bombed out in the Blitz during World War II, Lamb's joined up with two other rum producers, one of whom had suffered a similar fate, in order to continue their operations together. Whilst today, the tradition of seafarers receiving their daily tot no longer continues, the tradition of Lamb's producing a consistent quality rum carries on. |
