Hine

Hine is named after its proprietor Thomas Hine, an Englishman who went one to marry a young French maiden, Françoise Elisabeth, after his arrest during the French Revolution. Elisabeth's father owned a cognac house in Jarnac, and Hine was asked to take over the business following his death, with Hine giving his name to the company in 1817.

Hine selects and blends cognac eaux de vie from only the two finest crus, Grande and Petite Champagne, marrying them together in new casks for six to nine months before further aging in older barrels where they will acquire discreet tannins, developing colour and flavour. Hine has won countless awards in its long history and was recently honoured by China, being awarded first place in their top 100 cognacs.
