Haig

Haig whisky can claim to be among some of the oldest whiskies in the world. John Haig set up his original distillery, Kilbagie distillery, in the early 18th century, though his family had a history of distilling for generations before him. In 1824, his grandson, also called John, established the Cameronbridge distillery in Fife, Scotland which became the first distillery to produce grain whisky from the newly developed column still.

Haig very quickly grew to become one of the most popular Scotch whiskies in the world, producing 150,000 gallons in the first year, growing to a staggering 1.3 million gallons in 1877. Though the Cameronbridge distillery has diversified its operations to contribute to other products today, it still produces over 70 million gallons of whisky each year.
