Cargo Cult

Cargo Cult Rum is inspired by the cargo cults found in the South Pacific islands. During World War II, the US military were stationed on these islands, bringing with them large quantities of cargo, the likes of which the native islanders had never seen before: tinned food, vehicles and power sources. When they departed some islanders took the events to be a miracle and began building effigies of aircraft and makeshift airstrips in the hope of summoning the bounty of the cargo once more.

The rum is produced by Australia's Small Batch Spirits Company, using a blend of spirits from Papua New Guinea and Fiji where the sugar cane grows abundantly in the rich volcanic soils.
