Ardbeg whiskies are distinctive for using the most heavily peated malts in the industry, with many of their expressions having a phenol content of 55ppm, in some cases much higher. This, combined with the distillery's proximity to the ocean give Ardbeg its unique turfy smoke and seaspray characteristics.
Ardbeg has been named "World Whisky of the Year" 4 times in the past 7 years and called 'as close to perfection as makes no difference' by connoisseurs. It's a whisky with a fantastic reputation.
