An unpeated expression in the Togouchi range. Togouchi 18 Year Old Blended Whisky is soft and fruity with aromas of vanilla and sherry. To taste, there are flavours of oak, fruit and cereal with some earthy notes and a little spiciness. A long, warm and dry finish. Togouchi whiskies are unlike many Japanese whiskies in that they are not initially produced in Japan, but instead "naturalised" to become Japanese. The maturation takes place uniquely in an underground tunnel, built for a railway but never completed. The tunnel maintains a constant temperature and humidity ideal for maturation. |
