A spirit from South America made from cacao, Solbeso is distilled from the juicy, pulpy fruit surrounding said cacao pods beans. When this fruit is transformed into liqueur, it produces a soft, sweet and citrusy clear spirit - a bit like tequila, a bit like pisco and a bit like rum with notable floral flavours marked by nutty undertones. This is a new category of spirit liqueur that adds something interesting to the conversation. The spirit has little resemblance to the dark, bitter chocolate flavours one might expect, but rather has a light and clean taste with elements of the fresh creamy fruit; a little floral orange blossom and a bright splash of lemon. The aroma bursts with an intriguing combination of green apple skins and wet grass. Lemon is primary flavour, rounded by hints of silky honeysuckle and rose, slight hints herbs like thyme and rosemary, and subtle undertones of toffee and roasted pecans.
