Rum Sixty Six Family Reserve is a small batch limited release rum from the Foursquare Distillery in Barbados. It is aged for twelve years in American white oak casks, although due to the tropical climate in which it is aged, the effect is more comparable to European spirits aged for twice as long. Rum Sixty Six Family Reserve is an inviting vibrant golden orange colour. On the nose, sweet dried fruit notes, raisins and prunes up front, developing into some dark treacle, oak and hints of vanilla. Full bodied on the palate, sweet tropical fruit flavours work in perfect harmony with bitter notes to create an excellent balance. Vanilla notes shine through in the long finish. This rum is non-chill filtered to retain the full flavour, and as such the rum may contain a mild haziness if exposed to low temperatures or served with ice.
