Product Description

Louis Roederer Brut Nature 2009 is the second vintage release of this collaboration between the Louis Roederer Champagne house and free spirited artist Philippe Starck. Described by Cellar Master Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon as "Without a doubt the least Roederer in style of all our champagnes, as well as the most modern."

Where the 2006 vintage had more autumnal tones, the Brut Nature 2009 has a more spring-like character. A yellow colour with light amber glints and extremely fine bubbles. An intense aroma of sweet flowers, peaches and hazelnuts, developing into some spicy and citrus notes. A sweet, creamy texture, coating the palate. Smooth and delicate with juicy sun-drenched fruit on the palate, zesty and spicy with a delicate oak note lingering on the finish.

It all began in 2003, in this exceptionally sunny year, which was problematic for the northern vineyards, and revealed for the first time certain vineyards with remarkable potential in the heart of the Louis Roederer estate.

Located on the calcareous clay soil hillsides of Cumières, Hautvillers, and Vertus, rich in hard, coarse sandstone, these parcels of grapes had no difficulty in resisting the heat and drought in the summer of 2003. In fact, the vineyards produced aromatic, intense, and balanced grapes. The resulting wines are characterised by an optimal aromatic maturity, a creamy texture, and a vibrant freshness. This encouraged the Louis Roederer Champagne House to carry out a series of bottling trials. The wines were fine-tuned in 2003, 2004, and 2005, which culminated in the selection of the 2006 vintage. With the 2009 vintage, the story continues, like the second volume of a literary work penned by Louis Roederer.

The bottle was designed to reflect the simplicity and purity of the champagne: the bare minimum. The label was designed by Philippe Starck as a man who has created a champagne that he is proud of: beautiful classical script on white paper, simply highlighting the important words in felt tip. There is nothing artificial and the champagne's beauty is revealed at its core.
