George T. Stagg is a part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, a much highly sought after and much prized range of expressions released annually from the Buffalo Trace Distillery. The 2018 release of George T. Stagg is a 15 years and 4 months old bourbon bottled straight out of the barrel without the addition of water and without filtering. The expression is named in honour of one of bourbon's most important pioneers. This exceptional whiskey has dark chocolate, espresso and tobacco flavours with hints of cigar box, ginger and cardamom. Further in, the palate becomes a rich layer of baking spices, vanilla and hints of strawberry, marmalade, blueberry scone and roasted nuts. A rather exceptional bourbon! This whiskey is released only in highly limited quantities each year and is invariably in high demand. |
