Australian Red Wine
Description:
Fragrant aromas of fresh raspberries, pepper, cinnamon and anise. Rich flavours of berries, pepper and spice. The palate displays a creamy, fine texture with excellent length of flavour.
Background Information:
Yarra Burn was established in 1975 at the base of Mt Donabuang and the impressive Warburton Ranges. It was a pioneering property that led the renaissance in popularity of rich loamy soil, gentle cool breezes and warming afternoon sun for premium wine production.
Grape Varieties:
Shiraz 95% and Viognier 5%
Elegance and finesse is Yarra Burn's signature. The cool climate vineyards allow the fruit to ripen slowly and develop an abundance of intense and complex characters. The essence of these qualities is captured in this classic wine.
A style made famous in the northern Rhone, this is the first release of a Shiraz Viognier from Yarra Burn. The Shiraz is from the best regions in Victoria, and the Viognier has added excellent lift, bright fruit and creaminess to the palate. The wine was aged for 16 months in French Oak barriques and the fermentation was two-thirds open and one-third stainless steel tank.
