A tribute to the unique and outstanding qualities of the Gimblett Gravels, this rich blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah is new to the Trinity Hill product listing.
Using only the best hand picked, hand sorted grapes, this outstanding wine displays hints of cassis and liquorice on the nose with an intense fruit palate and long finish.
Aged in French oak for 26 months.
The wine was bottled in August 2004.
Grape Variety:
50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah.
Background:
2002 was one of the great vintages in the Gimblett Gravels area due to a fantastic warm, dry Autumn after a temperate summer had caused anxiety. Harvest timing was later and more leisurely than normal with grapes for this wine picked on.
