Description:
Rich, ruby red with hints of crimson in colour. The nose is dominated by aromas of ripe red berry fruit complexed with mocha and licorice notes.

Trinity Hill Homage Syrah is full bodied and concentrated, exhibiting rich citrus, ripe figs and stone-fruit with toasty, savoury oak on the palate and leading to a long finish.

In the words of internationally renowned winemaking consultant from Bordeaux, Monsieur Michel Rolland, this wine shows 'a wonderful balance between fruit and concentration'.

This Homage Syrah is very much a handcrafted wine with 100% hand picked grapes and hand plunging during fermentation. The wine was aged in new French oak barriques for 17 months.

The wine was bottled in December 2005.

Grape Variety: 96% Syrah (mass selected NZ clone, plus small proportions of Rhone clones 174, 383 and 470), 4% Viognier (Rhone clone 642).

Award Winning: This outstanding wine has topped Tri-Nations Shiraz Tastings (Australia 2006) and been awarded Champion Wine of the Hawke's Bay A&P Mercedes-Benz Wine Awards and Gold at the Air New Zealand Wine Awards 2006.

Only the second release of the Homage Syrah series, it shows all the class of the Gimblett Gravels and the dedicated wine-growing and wine-making team at Trinity Hill.
