Trinity Hill High Country Pinot Noir
Trinity Hill High Country Pinot Noir 2004 75cl

New Zealand Red Wine
Description:
Medium ruby in colour. Aromas of raspberry, and with maturity mushrooms and undergrowth.
On the palate characters of black fruits, such as plums, blackcurrant and cherry are evident. However this wine is more about texture and structure than primary fruit, with complexity derived from the different clones and winemaking techniques used.
Aged for 11 months in French oak barriques. Great care was taken during barrel ageing to protect the fragile nature of this grape variety from contact with air.
It was bottled in March 2005 unfined, but lightly filtered to prevent negative microbiological activity during bottle ageing.
Grape Variety:
100% Pinot Noir.
Background:
2004 was an excellent season in Hawke's Bay. Climatic conditions were such that grapes were allowed to hang late into autumn. They were harvested at good maturity levels, with excellent acid balance.
