Description:
Deep red in colour. The lifted nose is a complex mixture of lush blackberry fruit, dark plums and spicey oak.

The palate is pure opulence with stacks of berry fruit, liquorice and dark chocolate oak. The tannins are velvety and approachable giving the palate weight and richness.

The wine finishes with great length of liquorice and coffee characters.

Aged 12 to 18 months in 40% new American and French hogsheads, with the balance going into 2nd and 3rd fill barrels.

Grape Variety: 100% Shiraz.

Background: Background: Already widely acclaimed by influential US wine writers and trade, the Shotfire Ridge range has one key goal - to build consumer loyalty by over-delivering in quality.

Outstanding parcels of 100% Barossa Valley fruit are selected from the Kabininge vineyard for these wines which then receive special oak maturation treatment in the Barossa cellars.

The 2004 Shotfire Ridge Shiraz was awarded a gold medal and the Trophy for the top wine in Class 36 - Premium Dry Red Wine Full Bodied at the 2006 Royal Sydney Wine Show.
