Description:
Power shows upon agitating, warm notes of tobacco, red berry fruit macerated in brandy, cherry stones, and home-made jam, against a backdrop of oaky, slightly spicy aromas of cedar-wood, tobacco and bay leaves.
Attack on the palate is full, rich and warm with lots of freshness coming through on the mid-palate. Sweet, ripe tannins mingle harmoniously with the oak, beautifully rounded off by a full, long finish.
Grape Varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon (56%), Malbec (40%), Petit Verdot (4%).
Background: This exceptional Argentinean wine, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, was presented to the press in June 2003 during the Vinexpo World Wine Show in Bordeaux.
The outstanding welcome it received is in line with the tremendous success that Moët Hennessy expects from this joint venture.
Cheval des Andes is also an alliance of two remarkable talents, Roberto de la Mota, the winemaker of Terrazas de los Andes, and Pierre Lurton, oenologist and head of Château Cheval Blanc.
