The nose is spirited and nervous, with an array of fruit and nut aromas: grapefruit, apricot, almond and hazelnut, spiced with cinnamon, caramel and cocoa and rich vanilla oak. Charming and velvety on the palate, the grace of the first contact is maintained by a complex sequence of ripe and dry fruit followed by a languorous finish. Background: It is a blend with an average age of 20 years, made from a selection of several lots originating in one of the oldest vineyards in the Douro region - "Quinta do Bom Retiro".
