Unlike other spirits Gran Patron Burdeos is distilled at 55% alcohol, from blue agave from the highlands of the state of Jalisco, Mexico. Patrón Burdeos is matured in barrels made of a unique blend of American mountain oak and oaks from the different regions of France. The tequila is aged for 12 months, then distilled once again and racked in hand-selected First Growth Bordeaux barrels for 1 more year (the name "Burdeos" means "Bordeaux" in Spanish). This process adds the distinct fruity flavours of the finest Bordeaux wines.
