It has distinctive vanilla and citrus notes that one would expect from Glenmorangie, More unusual is the depth of colour and layers of warm, rich dried-fruit flavours. Maturation in rich Oloroso sherry casks plays its part. Finally, the greatest surprise of all. Peat. Just a hint, as Glenmorangie used to have when the barley was dried in the distillery's peat-fired kiln. This is the final touch, a gentle smokiness with layers of subtle floral scents.
