Warm and inviting honey in colour with a rich and enticing nose. Bold highland nuances of crushed pear and toffe apple with intriguing spicy notes of cinnamon, vanilla and gooseberries draw you in. Then a veil of tangy peat smoke, frshly baked bread and hazelnuts suddenly emerge, but is quickly tempered by orange peel, ginger and coriander. It has a bold, mysterious, complex and heart-warming taste with its many attractive flavours of dark bitter chocolate, rish roasted coffee beans, citrus fruits and truffles. Each flavour combines in perfect harmony, then a charming 'spritzig' or prickle on the tongue of peat smoke, nutmeg and fresh mint arouse the senses. Rather intriguing but delightfully different. Bu holding this delectable malt long in the mouth you capture the last remaingin whispers of sherry truffle, marzipan and ripe pineapple. Background: The village of Fettercairn is situated in the 'Mearns' of Kincardineshire, with fertile agricultural lands at the foot of the Grampian Mountains. The magnificant stone archway on the outskirts of the village commemorates the visits of Queen Victoria, who fondly recalled Fettercairn as being a "small, quiet town". Fettercairn Distillery was established in 1824, and has continuously produced its own unique and prized, single malt whisky for over one hundred and seventy five years.
