Description:
Sourced from cool climate Tasmania, Yarra Valley and Tumbarumba fruit. This finely structured wine shows exceptional depth and array of flavour. Refined lemon citrus and stone fruit characters are balanced by subtle toasty vanillin oak. Barrel fermentation in a mix of new and one year old French oak barriques, together with malolactic fermentation have contributed to the wine's flavour, profile and texture. Its fine and tight structure will develop further flavour, complexity with careful cellaring to 5 years.

Background Information: This Chardonnay is released as a tribute to Eileen Hardy, the matriarch of Australia's best known wine making and sailing family. Eileen actively influenced the Hardy wine company between 1938 - 1975, and was honoured with an OBE in 1977 for her outstanding contribution to the Australian wine industry.

Eileen Hardy Chardonnay has won the 'Best of the Best' at the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW, President’s Medal for excellence in food and wine, Easter 2007.

Since its first vintage in 1986, The Eileen Hardy Chardonnay has become Australia’s most awarded chardonnay using only premium grapes sourced from the very best cool climate vineyards in Tasmania, Hoddles Creek and Tumbarumba.
