Crimson in colour with brilliant clarity, the Chateau Reynella Cabernet delivers aromas of powerful spice, leather and blackberry. On the palate the wine starts with bright ripe and forward red fruit, the mid palate then develops into spicy notes and finally finishes with smooth velvety tannins to great length.

Established in 1838, Chateau Reynella enjoys the unrivalled prestige of the birthplace of South Australia's internationally renowned wine industry and the proud home of the State's oldest operating winery. Set on 21 picturesque hectares at the gateway to the famous McLaren Vale wine region, Chateau Reynella exudes classic charm with its restored heritage.
Winemaker's Notes:
The components of this wine are fermented in old concrete open fermenters where each vineyard is kept separate to be treated individually based on development of texture of flavour. The wines are tasted frequently to monitor progress and determine how much handling the wine requires. The wines are carefully basket pressed to extract only the desirable, softer, riper tannins and the decision to press is based on taste alone.
The choice of oak for the components is based on what suits the individual wine, the aim being for oak balance. The wine spent 18 months in French oak.
