For ten years these first fill Bourbon casks have lain in vaults just inches from the battering waves of Loch Indaall. As the name suggests, the taste of Bowmore Tempest really captures the rugged and stormy sea qualities that have been associated with its weather beaten distillery. Bright summer gold in colour, displaying earthy smoke and brine water, notes of crème brulée with orange blossom with butter cream. On the palate there's bursts of citrus, lemons and orange with the distinct peaty Islay character and a sea salt tang. The finish is long and lingering yet also clean and fresh.
