Its taste is an explosion of flavours - zesty fruit, brambles, rich honey, brown sugar and vanilla. The mouthfeel is rewardingly rich and vibrant sweet notes are counterbalanced with spicy oak tannin. The finish is exceptionally long, sweet and warming. A Rare Whisky drawn from a single vintage cask, specially selected by The Balvenie Malt Master from the limited stocks of Ancient Reserve Whiskies, and hand bottled at The Balvenie Distillery in March 2008. Bottles from a Single Vintage Cask No. 6568 which lay undisturbed since 18 June 1976. Each bottle in this vintage release is one of only 202 available in the world. Each bottle is individually hand-numbered; making each bottle both unique and unrepeatable. Background: The Balvenie distillery has been owned and managed by an independent family company for five generations. This has ensured that the Balvenie distillery is still dedicated to the traditions, care and craftmanship of malt whisky making.
